Chair Person
Jason Parker
Hello, I have been the Chair Person for the Shaw Park Group since it's inception and love every minute of it.
Shaw Park is my passion and I am fully dedicated to restoring the park back to being how I remeber it when I was a young lad, many years ago.
I have a wonderful team who fully support me and out just as keen to see the park back to how it was.
I work closely with area managers for Calderdale Council and local officers from West Yorkshire police.
I hope to continue in this role for as long as possible.
I can be contacted via the email link above or on my phone number, which is also above.

As technical adviser for the Shaw Park group my role is to give the group advice on the history of the park, what can be done by the group to help conserve and improve the structure of the park, liaise with officers s within Calderdale Council to make sure that anything that we propose doing in the park is appropriate and affordable, advise on working with English Heritage and Lottery funding providers and help with the production of documentation for the proposed renovation projects.
I had worked for Calderdale Council for 23 years until 2010 in a number of different roles including project managing the Peoples Park Heritage Lottery restoration. As part of my work with the Council I carried out an initial project appraisal for Shaw Park in 2001 to see if it would be eligible for a Lottery bid and although that was unsuccessful since then I have a long standing interest in the park and its restoration
Fund Raising
Wendy Tooby
I became involved with the group at the beginning as I do think it important to have a clean, safe place for children to play in. Shaw Park was a beautiful place for children and adults to spend leisure time in and we hope that it can be once more. As restrictions in Council spending mean that places like Shaw Park are being neglected we have to do the work ourselves. My daughter spent many happy ours playing in the park and I think that todays’ generation – indeed any future generation should have the chance to do the same.
I am only one of many who are contributing to try and restore the park. We hold monthly quizzes in the Duke of York, and this is slowly raising the profile of the group. In the summer we are having another ‘gala’ day and the theme for this year is the Diamond Coronation Celebrations.
